Considerations when deciding whether or not to go with a Shingled Roof:

The two most common shingles are three-tab shingles, and architectural shingles. The main differences between the two are the appearance and durability of the shingles, and the available warranties for each one. The standard three-tab shingles typically come with a 25 year manufacturer’s warranty, whereas architectural shingles typically come with a 50 year manufacturer’s warranty.

There are other options as well, such as designer shingles, which can have a slightly higher cost but offer a great curb appeal. Please see the images below for some references of each shingle type.
